Why rent a dress?

Let’s be honest, purchasing dresses or accessories can become quite an expense. Zaphrika wants to give you the opportunity to look radiant for your photoshoot. Why fill up your closet with dresses that you only plan to wear once? Zaphrika allows you the flexibility to rent a gown that not only makes you feel beautiful and keep up with the latest trend but can be done at a fraction of the cost.

Do you custom make dresses?

Yes, we absolutely do! We custom make wedding dresses, matric dance dresses, any dresses in our inventory or a dress for any special occasion. Contact us today to make an appointment.

What is the cost of consultation at Zaphrika Studio?

It is R150 for a 1 hour consultation at Zaphrika Studio to fit 5 dresses.

What is the cost of renting a dress?

The default rental price implies the use of a dress/accessory by one person during one photo session or fitting. The prices range between R500 – R1500. That includes cleaning of the dress. Any delivery/courier costs are not included in the rental price.

A refundable deposit will also be charged.

How to use the dress for a photoshoot?

Shoes: wear heels only for the photo, and move around in ballet shoes or pumps so as not to get tangled and accidentally damage the dress. When walking, when you need to move the dress to another location, do not pull the dress on the floor or the ground, collecting dust and dirt and clinging to branches. Gather the skirt in front of you, or let the assistants carry it.

Where can I fit the dresses?

You can make an appointment at Zaphrika Studio for a fitting. We are in the South of Johannesburg, Alberton, 10 Michelle Avenue, Randhart. It is R150 for a 1 hour consultation at Zaphrika Studio to fit 5 dresses.

When are you open?

We work by appointments only.
Weekdays: 9:00 – 17:00
Saturdays: Closed

Can I order directly from the website and skip the consultation at Zaphrika Studio?

Yes you can. Fill in the booking form with the name of the dress you would love to wear, and we will consult with you via email or whatsapp.

Can I reserve a dress for a future date?

Certainly. Simply select your start date to the day you would like your dress to arrive by. It will arrive on or before the start date requested. Full payment required.

What is the condition of the dresses?

Zaphrika dresses and accessories are cleaned and inspected before every use. We hold a high standard in reliability when it comes to fulfilling the needs of our customers. If a dress no longer meets the standard, it is promptly removed from our inventory. All our dresses are in new to good used condition.

How does Zaphrika dress rental work?

  1. Find it: Choose the perfect dress for your specific date. Each dress is unique, and only one dress exists in that fabric. Options are chosen by different styles, type of photoshoot, and colour. We have multiple dresses. It’s all up to you!
  2. Reserve it: First, fill out the booking form – reservation request. Indicate the dress name in the appropriate fields. Then contact us, and we will make sure that the necessary dress fits you and is available for rent on your date, pay the reservation, and you’re done. The rental agreement consists of a 3-day period but may extend for an additional cost.
  3. Return it: Enjoy the dress for your photoshoot and look Radiant! When you are finished using the dress, please return it back to Zaphrika studio.

When do I get my deposit back?

Zaphrika will examine the dress before it leaves the studio and will examine it on its return to ensure that it is in good condition. It will be up to Zaphrika to say whether the dress is not up to its original state that it left the studio in. Only after the dress was inspected, the deposit will be paid back via FNB E-Wallet.

How does FNB E-Wallet work to get my deposit back?

Zaphrika will be in contact with you after the dress was successfully returned and received in excellent condition, to discuss the refund of the dress via FNB E-Wallet. You have a maximum of 16 hours after you received the SMS from FNB to withdraw the money from any FNB (First National Bank) ATM.

If you miss the 16 hour deadline, you can request a new Temporary Pin Number again, which will cost you R2.00. (As per FNB regulations. This fee is excluding your cellphone service provider costs).

Dial *120*277# for a new Temporary PIN.

Please note: You do not need to bank at FNB to use this E-Wallet service.
To claim your money from E-Wallet at FNB ATM do the following:

  1. You will receive an sms with a temporary pin number.
  2. Go to your nearest FNB ATM.
  3. At the FNB ATM, press PROCEED on the “keypad” (it’s the green ENTER button).
  4. Click E-Wallet Services.
  5. Enter YOUR cellphone number and the temporary pin number (which is on the SMS you received).
  6. Select the option of GET MAXIMUM CASH.
  7. Take the money.

If you have any issues with regards to invalid information entered at the FNB ATM to claim your deposit back, Zaphrika will NOT and can NOT be liable or held responsible. Please contact your nearest First National Bank if any discrepancy arises.

What are my delivery/courier options?

Standard: Courier Guy. Same day delivery between R75 and R150 depending on the distance, one way (main areas in Gauteng).

Dress will arrive one day prior to your photoshoot.

Deliveries only during weekdays. Processing times are 1-3 days. Make sure to book in advance.

Shipping cost: Includes shipping labels to and from and is based on the area you are in.

Can alterations to the dress be made to fit me perfectly?

Unfortunately not. Zaphrika’s dresses are created in a way to fit multiple sizes, and it was created especially for photoshoots. The only time where dresses can be altered, is when they are hired for special occasions or events. Alterations will then be charged separately.

What if the dress does not fit?

The dresses are adjustable in different sizes (please refer to our catalogue). If you have any questions about sizing, please have a chat to us, before placing your order for your dress. No refunds or exchanges for incorrect sizes are available, if you did not have a consultation at Zaphrika Studio. We highly recommend that you make an appointment for a fitting at Zaphrika Studio.

Can I rent children’s dresses separately?

Yes you can. Please have a look at the children’s dresses on our catalogue to see the prices and styles available. Please fill in the booking form or contact us for more information.

Can I rent a dress for an event or special occasion.

Yes you can. Please contact us for individual pricing and conditions.

I am from a different country or city. What are the conditions for renting a dress?

Zaphrika’s dresses are available for rent only in the Republic of South Africa. For clients from other countries, please contact us directly to explore alternative options.

What happens if the photoshoot was cancelled?

Unfortunately there are NO REFUNDS in this situation. However you will get a voucher with the exact same value to use within 1 months from the original date. We will simply transfer the reservation to another date, free at the time of the new reservation. Please accept our apologies, if your first choice of dress is not available.

What happens if I return the dress late?

A R50 late fee per rental per day per dress or accessory will apply directly to the credit card that was used on the order. There is a 200% charge for the value of the garment that is not returned to Zaphrika for any reason. Late fees are applied over the cost of the rental fees of the order.

Which methods can I use to pay for a dress?

You can pay via EFT or cash. First pay, first get policy. FULL payment, reserves the dress for your date. No refunds of dresses if cancelled after 1 week of your booking date.

What about stains or damages to the dress?

We understand there are circumstances under which certain wear and tear cannot be avoided. Zaphrika offers a R50 rental insurance coverage that covers ONLY normal wear and tear. Significant damages or stains to the garment will result in charges to the credit card on file to cover the cost of the repair, or even full replacement of the garment. Do I need to clean the dress before I send it back?

No, every dress/skirt will be fully inspected and properly cleaned once it has been received.
